About the Role

The Lead Maintenance Scheduler, reporting to the Scheduling Manager, will assist in the day to day running of the Planning Team and utilise various software to produce and maintain records, create programmes of work, analyse network data, and then liaise with 3rd parties as required by the Scheduling Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Scheduling Manager with the day to day running of the Planning Team and smaller projects, scheduling works to ensure all routine tasks are undertaken as per the overall project plan.
  • Assist with monitoring of all planned works and progress various aspects of the works as directed.
  • Liaise with the client to ensure closures are maximised for both internal and external works.
  • Engage Subcontractors as necessary in conjunction with the Scheduling Manager and ensure the Subcontract booking process is followed.
  • Liaise with third party contractors/area teams to ensure all works are planned in accordance with the wider National Highways network.
  • Assist with customer enquiries to ensure responses are sent in a timely manner.  
  • Assist with the month end report creation for review by the Senior Management Team.
  • Check Network data for 3rd party activity and liaise accordingly.
  • Ensure NEM’s compliance on works notifications and assist the Scheduling Manager in adherence to the 7-day KPI.
  • Ensure systems are kept up to date with accurate information and that any discrepancies are communicated back to the Scheduling Manager for resolution or escalation.
  • Engage with the Training and Fleet Coordinator where required to maintain relevant levels of adequately trained resources.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities & Police as required to obtain necessary consents for works.
  • Provide timely information and feedback as required by Egis M40 Management for reporting purposes. 
  • Behave in a manner to promote collaboration and fairness, and to foster a positive work environment, maintain good morale throughout the workforce. 
  • To carry our other such related duties as maybe required 
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with our client and partners. 
  • Work closely with other departments, contractors to facilitate effective VRS repair and defect completion.

What do we need from you

  • In-house road space (internal training will be provided)
  • Knowledge of working on a Highspeed road (preferable but not essential)
  • Highways England NEMS training (will be provided)
  • Microsoft Office basic package training
  • Capability in making informed decisions under pressure, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexible approach to managing changing priorities and working conditions during daytime hours
