About the Role

  • Participate in economic and technical feasibility studies for oil & gas facility and pipeline projects, as well as detailed planning and design; 
  • Prepare and implement specifications, cost estimations, equipment scope and deliverables in accordance with project requirements; 
  • Assist in problem solving that arises during project or assignment execution; 
  • Prepare, interpret or review calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, systems or equipment with increasing levels of complexity; 
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our engineering tools, processes and standards; 
  • Work with drafting staff to prepare and interpret schematic, process and equipment drawings, layouts and other deliverables; 
  • Perform review and evaluation of equipment vendor data and drawings and coordinate with supplier and client personnel; 
  • Prepare regulatory submissions for facility projects to the AER, ABSA and other bodies as required;
  • Coordinate material and equipment procurement and scheduling with vendor and field personnel during construction phases;
  • And other duties as assigned.

What do we need from you

  • Engineering degree from an accredited university with 3 to 10 years relevant experience;
  • Registration as a Member in Training or Professional Engineer with APEGA; 
  • Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal design codes and safety laws; 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and suppliers; 
  • Working knowledge of engineering computer programs, work planning and control methods; 
  • Ability to work and adapt in a flexible, fast-paced environment; 
  • Travel as required to ensure the successful execution of projects; and 
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
