About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical ICT Network Specialist to join our organization at our port facility in Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our critical network infrastructure that supports port operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring network reliability and security in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure systems supporting port operations and logistics activities
  • Monitor network performance using SNMP tools and network management platforms to ensure optimal system availability and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, analyze root causes, and implement timely resolutions to minimize operational downtime
  • Configure and manage LAN/WAN connections, routers, switches, and firewalls to support organizational requirements
  • Implement and maintain network security protocols, access controls, and firewall policies to protect critical port systems and data
  • Perform regular network maintenance, updates, and patches while documenting all changes and configurations
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and coordinate equipment upgrades
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Conduct network capacity planning and optimization to support current and future operational needs
  • Respond to security incidents and implement corrective measures to maintain system integrity
  • Provide technical support to end-users and coordinate with IT teams on network-related issues

What do we need from you

**Required Skills and Experience:**

  • 15+ years of professional experience in network administration and infrastructure management
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network architecture, and OSI model
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise networking equipment
  • Proficiency in LAN/WAN configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and access control systems
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools (SNMP, Nagios, or similar platforms)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze network performance and identify optimization opportunities
  • Excellent documentation and technical reporting skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

  • Experience working in port, maritime, or critical infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of port management systems and logistics software integration
  • Experience with network redundancy, failover systems, and disaster recovery planning
  • Vendor management and procurement experience
  • Familiarity with network security certifications or best practices
  • Experience with network capacity planning and forecasting
