The Health, Safety, Security Manager will oversee the management of all aspects of health, safety and security in Africa Region.
He/she will support Regional Management and oversee the effective implementation and improvement of a health, safety and security management system that is equally developed in all countries in the Region and aligned with the Egis Group's corporate health, safety and security management system.
In his/her mission, the Health, Safety, Security Manager will :
- Lead, oversee and manage daily activities related to health, safety and security, ensuring compliance with requirements and Egis Group corporate management system.
- Oversee the effective management of workplace health, safety and security risks and the complete processing of workplace health, safety and security incidents.
- Actively collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders, promoting workplace health, safety and security to ensure the expected level of involvement, cooperation, awareness and continual improvement.
- Act as the focal point for management, staff and Egis Group on all topics related to the management of health, safety and security in the Region.
- Business travels within the Region will be required as part of the job.
Health, Safety, Security leadership :
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of the health, safety and security framework in the Region, in alignment with Egis Group procedures and criteria.
- Consolidate Health, Safety and Security contacts in the Region in countries and projects of presence. Animate cooperation, support and exchange of information in the regional Health, Safety, Security Community.
- Steer and support office and project staff to deploy and apply best health, safety and security practices.
Prevention, incident management and crisis control :
- Visit and work with projects and teams in the Region to understand, assess and control all risks and challenges related to health, safety and security.
- Ensure effective controls are in place for the identified risks. Regularly monitor the risk environment in the Region (incl. monitoring travels).
- Oversee the response to incidents. Participate in investigations of significant health, safety and security incidents. Ensure complete incident analysis and implementation of post-incident corrective actions.
- Participate in the response to crisis.
Performance monitoring and compliance :
- Support Regional Management by setting health, safety and security objectives and monitoring performance through dedicated indicators aligned with those of Egis Group.
- Oversee compliance with Egis rules and local regulations via reviews and audits. Ensure that all Egis offices and projects are fully compliant with client requirements, current corporate standards and regulations.
- Manage health, safety and security reporting both to regional stakeholders and Egis Group.
- Organize quarterly Regional Health, Safety and Security Management Reviews, with participation of Regional Management, to highlight current results, main incidents, challenges and objectives.
Training and awareness :
- Take initiatives, coordinated with the Egis Group Corporate and regional teams to improve Health, Safety and Security management in the Region.
- Pilot health, safety and security awareness initiatives in the Region, including regular communication and exchange of good practices and lessons learnt.
Profile :
- Higher education with at least bachelor’s degree.
- Relevant Health and Safety certification(s) (i.e. NEBOSH, IOSH or similar).
- Mandatory: Between 5-10 years of experience in managing health, safety and/or security on operational projects or sites.
- International work experience will be an advantage.
Skills and abilities :
- Excellent leadership and people skills and stakeholder’s management, including internal and external stakeholders at the highest level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Result-oriented, proactive and problem-solver. Comfortable with project delivery programs.
- Spoken and written English.
