We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Geotechnical - Transportation to lead our geotechnical engineering division in Bengaluru, India. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee all geotechnical aspects of transportation infrastructure projects, driving technical excellence, innovation, and organizational success. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to manage a talented team and deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
- Lead and manage the geotechnical engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, professional development, and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for geotechnical analysis, design, and testing across transportation infrastructure projects
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of geotechnical investigations, site characterization, and foundation design for highways, railways, and related transportation systems
- Analyze complex geotechnical challenges and provide innovative solutions that meet project requirements and regulatory standards
- Ensure compliance with Indian construction codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices across all geotechnical operations
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines to optimize operational efficiency and project profitability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders, to ensure seamless project integration
- Conduct performance reviews, provide mentorship, and develop career paths for team members
- Stay current with emerging geotechnical technologies, software tools, and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage
- Establish quality assurance protocols and conduct technical audits to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications
- Represent the organization in client meetings, technical presentations, and industry forums
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, with significant involvement in transportation infrastructure projects
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated leadership and management experience in a technical environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of geotechnical analysis, soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques
- Strong expertise in transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, railways, and related systems
- Proficiency in geotechnical software tools and analysis programs
- In-depth understanding of Indian construction standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent project management skills with proven ability to deliver complex projects on schedule and within budget
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Preferred: Professional Engineers Council (PEC) registration or equivalent professional certification
- Preferred: Experience with large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
- Preferred: Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced geotechnical design software
