We are seeking a civil or environmental engineer with experience in flood modelling and hydraulic assessment to join our water team in Melbourne. Our team of dedicated Flooding and Stormwater specialists consists of more than 30 professionals and work on challenging and rewarding projects in the government, urban development and infrastructure space.
The role will include:
- Flood studies and flood risk management for urban or regional areas
- Flood mitigation studies
- Project management including client liaison, attending meetings, preparation of progress updates and data collation.
- Support and approve associated technical work directly related to the discipline and in project management capacities.
- Participate in client management, business development and proposal writing.
- Technical report writing.
- Hydrologic RORB models, hydraulic Tuflow Model development and QA reviews.
- Support the well-being, development, and resourcing of team members as well as mentoring of junior engineers
You will have demonstrated 4+ years' post graduate experience in a similar role within professional services or consultancy environment. In addition, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus on water and environment.
- Proven skills in hydrologic, hydraulic and / or water quality modelling with experience in relevant software such as TUFLOW, HECRAS, RORB and MUSIC.
- Technical skills in QGIS/ArcGIS/MapInfo.
- Experience in report writing.
- Motivated and able to work independently as well as being a team player.
- Self-driven and takes initiative.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong GIS work in QGIS and ARC GIS
- Problem solving abilities.
