Reporting directly to the Finance Director Controlling will contribute to the enhancement of Project Accounting & Controlling capabilities of the Project Controlling community and will work towards the objectives of building up a single Project data source. Reporting dotted line to Group FP&A Director the FP&A Manager – Project Controlling will provide actionable insights & analytics on the Group Project Portfolio.


About the Role

Core Responsibilities in Project Controlling:

  • Monitor and analyze project financials, ensuring accuracy & completeness in project database reporting.
  • Oversee variance analysis between actuals, forecasts, and budgets for projects across the organization.
  • Lead project-specific KPIs reporting, preparing detailed analytics for the executive leadership team.
  • Partner closely with the finance transformation department to implement mid- and long-term improvements in project accounting and controlling practices, processes & tools.
  • Ensure robust project cost accounting, tracking, and reporting mechanisms to align with financial management core model.
  • Contribute to the design and rollout of standard project accounting procedures across the organization.
  • Analyze long-term projects' financial health to provide actionable insights on margins, costs, and working capital.
  • Coordinate with project managers, Business Lines and regional finance teams to align project financial management with group objectives.

 

Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives:

  • Lead the standardization and enhancement of project financial processes in collaboration with the financial transformation team.
  • Drive improvements in project performance reporting using advanced analytics tools, data modeling, and BI systems.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in project financial processes to foster efficiency and transparency.
  • Act as a key contributor to cross-functional finance initiatives related to project controlling and reporting.

 

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between project teams and the finance controlling department to ensure proper communication and execution of financial processes.
  • Train and mentor project managers on financial best practices and tools.
  • Support regional finance teams in adopting standardized processes for project accounting and controlling.

What do we need from you

Educational Background:
Graduate from a Business School, Engineering School, or equivalent in Finance, with a minimum of 6–7 years of experience in international environments.

Professional Experience:
Proven track record in project controlling within long-term project environments, such as engineering, construction, or industrial sectors. Strong background in project accounting and financial analysis.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in BI tools or EPM systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Business-oriented mindset with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Experience with process improvement and change management in complex organizations.
  • Excellent organization and planning capabilities.
  • Fluency in English and French (both written and verbal).
