About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field LAN Lead Engineer to join our team in Doha, Qatar. As the Field LAN Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our local area network infrastructure across multiple sites. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of LAN/WAN solutions for our organization
- Manage and mentor a team of network engineers, providing technical guidance and support
- Develop and maintain network policies, procedures, and documentation
- Conduct regular network performance assessments and implement optimization strategies
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide timely resolutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network infrastructure aligns with business objectives
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external partners as needed
- Ensure compliance with security standards and implement necessary safeguards
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues
What do we need from you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in LAN engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong expertise in LAN/WAN technologies, network protocols, and security
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco networking equipment
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and other relevant network protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Proven experience in network troubleshooting, optimization, and performance tuning
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Experience with enterprise network architecture and IT infrastructure management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel to various sites within Qatar as needed
