We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Electrical Engineer to join the Egis Transport Solutions MEPHFC Design Team, with a focus on our Tunnels & Highways projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Tunnels & Highways projects.
As an Electrical Engineer you will review and produce electrical designs. We are looking for someone who’s dedicated, diligent, and driven, and will take this challenge head on, being part of a dynamic team with big ambitions.
Your responsibilities are likely to include:-
- Support the lead electrical engineer in the preparation of HV, LV, and electrical building services designs, including design reports, technical specifications, single line diagrams, layouts, calculations, protection schemes, maximum demand assessments, load flow analysis, earthing & bonding
- Develop design from feasibility up to As Built
- Production of design proposals (e.g. sketches) for agreement with the client, stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers etc.
- Prepare and monitor technical submittals for approval by the client
- Writing project communications such as Requests For Information (RFI’s) & meeting minutes
- Maintaining trackers, registers and schedules
- Carrying out design reviews and working to design assurance processes
- Nurture a get it right first time culture within the team
Essential:
- Electrical Engineering qualification
- Experience in electrical building services design and coordination
- Experience of working in an engineering production environment
- Experience of multi-disciplinary design and coordination, and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stages
- Experience of producing drawings, schedules and calculations
- Ability to find solutions to engineering problems
- Knowledge of British Standards and Regulations
- Understanding of project scopes, requirements, works information
- Awareness of delivering work to a programme and budget
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Capable of working as part of a team and on own initiative
- Good understanding of electrical systems from a technical and design perspective
- Experience using engineering software tools including Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux
- Being committed to professional development, staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, integrating them into project designs as appropriate
YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK
Desirable:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Member of an engineering institute and working towards Engineering Council Professional Registration
- Knowledge of design stages and requirements e.g. RIBA, BSRIA
- Experience of producing technical notes, reports, specifications
- Experience of working with 3D models in a BIM environment
- Understanding of relevant legislation such as CDM
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and project communications
- Commercial awareness
- Understanding of electrical systems from an installation, buildability, and maintainability perspective
- Knowledge of testing, commissioning and certification of electrical services would be beneficial
- Awareness of procurement activities and lead times
