About the Role
The UK water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. As Egis accelerates the growth of its Water Business in the UK, we are building a high-performing EICA Engineering team to help shape this next chapter.
We are inviting expressions of interest from talented electrical and ICA engineers at all levels, from Consultant through to Associate Director, who want to play a meaningful role in delivering major water and wastewater programmes. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to technically robust, sustainable and innovative treatment solutions across nationally significant projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute/lead Electrical and/or ICA design packages, covering feasibility, optioneering, concept, outline and detailed design across major UK water/wastewater programmes (e.g. AMP8, WINEP, SROs, etc).
- Develop and review core EICA deliverables including technical specifications, control philosophies, user requirement specifications (URS), calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules and system architecture documentation, ensuring integrated and practical solutions.
- Attending site visits for data acquisition and meeting site operators
- Discussions and liaison with technology providers and vendors
- Support compliance with hazardous area and electrical safety requirements, including DSEAR and installations involving equipment in explosive atmospheres.
- Participate in inspection, testing, setting to work and commissioning activities for ICA systems, including attendance at factory acceptance testing (FAT) for panels, PLC/HMI software and SCADA systems where required.
- Provide design support during delivery phases, including reviewing contractor submissions, answering design queries, and supporting handover/ commissioning activities when required.
- Contribute to business development and work winning: identify opportunities, shape scopes, contribute to bids.
- Contribute to recruitment, team development, mentoring and skills development efforts.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng/MEng (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering (or related discipline).
- Chartered Engineer, CEng (or working towards chartership, grade dependent) with a recognised institution (e.g., IET or similar).
- Experience in delivering EICA engineering design (ideally in the UK Water industry), including taking the lead EICA engineering role on a project or significant task.
- Strong practical experience preparing and reviewing EICA documentation such as specifications, control philosophies, user requirement specifications, calculations, schedules and system/network architecture drawings.
- Knowledge of DSEAR, CDM requirements and electrical installations in hazardous areas relevant to water and wastewater facilities.
- Working knowledge of UK water industry standards, regulatory expectations, and safety-by-design/CDM as applied to treatment facilities.
- Previous experience in a consultancy environment or engineering company or other relevant industry acting as an Electrical and/or ICA Engineer.
- The ability to work accurately and flexibly, integrating your work with other discipline areas whilst managing your own /your team’s work to tight programme and budget constraints.
- Proven ability to prepare high quality written technical reports and deliver verbal presentations to a high level of quality assurance for a variety of audiences.
- Be able to travel and visit operational works and construction sites as required, to act in a safe manner.
Desirable
- Experience in water reuse/recycling, bioresources/sludge treatment, energy from waste design
- Experience leading on BD/work-winning contribution (or strong demonstrable aptitude): opportunity shaping, bid inputs, client development, and service-line growth.
- Experience with people management: building teams, hiring and mentoring, and setting a positive, delivery-focused culture.
