Join us as we grow our electrical design capabilities in New Zealand and design the networks for the future with us. As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for the production of high-quality design documentation for clients within the transmission and distribution space. You will report directly in to the Director – Energy and be actively supported to grow and develop within the role as our team expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of distribution overhead lines, substations and underground cable networks
- Developing and maintaining AutoCAD and Revit models for substation layouts, equipment arrangements, and associated building services.
- Preparing design drawings and documentation in coordination with electrical engineers and design staff.
- Project scoping and estimating.
- Collaborating in a team environment, while learning to work efficiently and autonomously on allocated tasks.
To be successful in this opportunity, you will ideally have recent demonstrated experience in a similar electrical design role within industry. In addition, you will also have:
- Technical qualification such as a Diploma or Certificate of Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Relevant work rights to live and work full-time in New Zealand
- Current full Driver’s License
- Experience in electrical or mechanical drafting and/or design using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, NEARA, PLS CADD or similar is essential.
- Practical working knowledge of fundamental requirements of electrical engineering and design.
- Effective communication skills with ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to site as and when needed.
