About the Role

Director Urban Transport (Active Travel, Urban Roads and Bus Connects)  egis Ireland

About the Role – Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership: Lead and manage the Urban Transport (Active Travel, Urban Roads and Bus Connects) activity in Ireland, ensuring development of the activity and sustainable profitability.

Project Sponsorship: Supervise and oversee the execution of urban transport projects in Ireland, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract.

Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure project success.

Technical Expertise: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to project planning and delivery.

Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and requirements to provide tailored consultancy services.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables, and implement quality control processes to meet client expectations.

Financial Management: Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation to optimize project profitability.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate project approvals and compliance.

Reporting: Provide regular project updates and reports to the UK & Ireland Roads and Active Travel Director and clients, demonstrating progress and achievements.

Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth, develop winning strategies, and actively participate in the proposal and bid process to secure new urban transport projects.

 

 

 

 

 


What do we need from you

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or equivalent recognised professional body.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, roads, or transport infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects.
  • Strong business development skills with a history of winning and developing design and engineering work.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience in project budget management.
