About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Design Engineer specializing in bridge and transportation infrastructure for our Bengaluru office. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing bridge structures that meet safety standards and project specifications. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for complex transportation challenges while maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence and efficiency.
- Design and analyze bridge structures using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, and MIDAS Civil
- Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents in compliance with relevant design codes (IRC, IBC, AASHTO)
- Conduct structural analysis and modeling to ensure designs meet safety, durability, and performance requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Evaluate geotechnical and environmental factors to optimize bridge design solutions
- Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and documentation for project reviews and approvals
- Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and address design-related issues
- Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in bridge engineering
- Support the development of project proposals and cost estimates based on design specifications
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team
What do we need from you
- 3-7 years of professional experience in bridge design, structural engineering, or transportation infrastructure projects
- Proficiency with bridge design and analysis software including AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or MIDAS Civil
- Strong knowledge of design codes and standards such as IRC, IBC, and AASHTO guidelines
- Solid understanding of structural analysis, material science (concrete and steel), and construction methodologies
- Excellent technical drawing and CAD skills with the ability to produce detailed and accurate documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience with project management and coordination across multiple stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in team environments
- Preferred: Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced structural analysis techniques
- Preferred: Familiarity with transportation planning and infrastructure development projects
- Preferred: Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green infrastructure solutions
