About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Design Coordination Engineer (Civil/Structural) to join our organisation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for coordinating and integrating civil and structural design elements across complex airport infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, analytical capability, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless design coordination and project delivery.
- Coordinate civil and structural design elements across all project disciplines to ensure compatibility and compliance with project requirements
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design coordination documentation, including clash detection reports and resolution strategies
- Utilise Building Information Modelling (BIM) and advanced coordination tools to identify and resolve design conflicts prior to construction
- Conduct regular design reviews and coordination meetings with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication
- Develop and manage design coordination schedules, ensuring timely delivery of coordinated design packages
- Verify compliance of all design deliverables with applicable building codes, standards, and airport-specific regulations
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and coordination matrices to support design integration
- Analyse construction sequencing and constructability to optimise design solutions
- Maintain detailed records of design decisions, coordination actions, and resolution outcomes
- Support quality assurance processes and conduct design audits to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with project management, contractors, and consultants to address design-related issues and implement corrective actions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design coordination processes and methodologies
What do we need from you
**Required Skills and Experience:**
- Proven experience in civil and structural design coordination, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or airport projects
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit
- Demonstrated expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and coordination platforms
- Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles and design practices
- Excellent understanding of building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in clash detection and design conflict resolution methodologies
- Exceptional organisational and time-keeping skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent people skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in technical documentation and drawing preparation
- Competence in project management tools and scheduling software
**Desirable Skills and Experience:**
- Experience with airport terminal design, runway infrastructure, or aviation-related projects
- Familiarity with advanced BIM coordination software and digital collaboration platforms
- Knowledge of construction sequencing and constructability analysis
- Experience with quality assurance and compliance verification processes
- Understanding of sustainable design principles and airport-specific design standards
- Experience working in the Middle East or with international project teams
