About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Resident Engineer to join our team in Kuwait. In this critical role, you will assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing large-scale Building projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Assist in managing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations
- Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material samples
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, and technical correspondence
- Collaborate with the project team to resolve design conflicts and construction-related problems
- Assist in contract administration, including change orders, payment applications, and claims management
- Ensure adherence to local building codes and regulations specific to Kuwait
- Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and team members
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff
What do we need from you
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience, including 3 years as Deputy Resident Engineer in civil engineering projects, with a focus on large-scale Building/infrastructure
- Valid membership with the Kuwait Society Engineers (KSE)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations, particularly those applicable in Kuwait
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Technical report writing and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
