We are seeking and experienced Civil Drafter to join our Melbourne team. You will provide effective and efficient drafting services and assisting in the production of schematic drawings. The role will undertake detailed drafting tasks of limited scope and complexity under the direction and guidance of more Senior Drafters.
Main duties:
- Closely liaise with Project Management, Engineering and Design teams, to produce drawings and draft plans that are delivered on time, to budget and according to client specifications.
- Review drawings to ensure they conform to drafting specifications.
- Present drawings to production and construction teams, clients and consultants and prepare adjustments, as necessary.
- Provide high level of technical and drafting input and some design contribution into a variety of civil related projects.
- Employ computer aided drafting and design systems where relevant.
- Continuously develop skills on the application of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
- Comply with quality management system and demonstrate ability to prevent inconsistencies.
- Work with statutory authorities as required and comply with council standards.
- Assist with Bill of Quantities including all subdivisional infrastructure ensuring they are accurate and on time.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering and Design teams to ensure work output is produced to standard.
- Maintain good inter-staff relationships and promote individual integrity.
- Perform administrative tasks related to producing drawings and assist in project documentation as required.
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in a similar position or related field of experience.
- Completion of Diploma in Civil Engineering or other relevant tertiary qualification.
- Problem solving/analytical skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and carry out instructions.
- Ability to use theoretical knowledge of Drafting principles to analyse and interpret information.
- Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit.
- Experience in complying with a quality management system, work practices and procedures relevant to the design office.
- Illustrate an ability to negotiate and work with other team members, organisations, and sub-consultants.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours from time-to-time, to meet international time zones
