About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chargehand to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Chargehand, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating work crews, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high safety standards on job sites.
- Lead and supervise work crews, providing clear direction and guidance to team members
- Coordinate daily work activities, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet project deadlines
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies on job sites
- Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety awareness
- Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas for safety and proper functioning
- Resolve on-site issues and make decisions to keep projects moving forward efficiently
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to optimize workflow and resource allocation
- Perform hands-on work as needed to support team objectives and lead by example
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and team productivity
- Provide regular updates to management on project status, challenges, and achievements
- Mentor and train team members to develop their skills and improve overall performance
- Ensure the quality of completed work meets or exceeds company standards
What do we need from you
- Proven experience of minimum 8 years as a Chargehand or in a similar supervisory role in construction or industrial settings
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse work crews
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, management, and clients
- Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the workplace
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical documents, and project specifications
- Proficiency in using project management tools and software to track progress and manage resources
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment inspection and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with construction or industrial processes relevant to the job site
- Decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to perform hands-on work and move around job sites as needed
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and schedules
- Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency and quality
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Familiarity with local work regulations and practices in Dubai and the UAE
