About the Role

As an BIM Modeller, you will be key member of the production of civil and bridge engineering projects under the management of a Senior/Principal Engineer.

 

You will play a critical role within team in the production and coordination of high-quality 3D CAD models with embedded data and ensuring their alignment with project standards and the BIM Execution Plan.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery and management of projects from technical design to construction stage to ensure compliance and delivered to project standards.
  • Responsible for implementing best practice and consistent processes across the project, this includes liaising with project stakeholders and the supply chain to ensure the correct standards are applied.
  • Responsible for quality processes and quality standards of all deliverables, including exchange information and conversion processes.
  • Utilise Bentley ProjectWise with Autodesk Civils 3D for detailed 3D CAD model creation and documentation, ensuring models are fully coordinated and by using clash avoidance tools which are embedded within the digital twin used on the project.
  • Liaise with discipline BIM leads to ensure optimized clash results using suppression rules based on modelling methods.
  • Support the production of high-quality 3D CAD models and detailed construction drawings for specific elements of railway station projects, ensuring integration with overall project information models.
  • Produce model geometry and information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
  • Ensure all models that are submitted, meet the project requirements set out, and Ensure systems are in place for clash avoidance, internal model audits and clash detection before model submission.
  • Support and liaise with the BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager and wider project joint venture team in the implementation of deliverables adhering to specified project standards and to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the project's ProjectWise Common Data Environment, ensuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance checks of to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and the employers information requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with the BEP and the supporting project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to ensure the 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues.

 


What do we need from you

Essential:

  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent in relevant subject BEng/MEng
  • BIM Modeller with at least 3 years’ experience in major infrastructure/transportation projects
  • Experience in Infrastructures of Roads, Bridges and Underground Utilities using Civil 3D
  • Experience in modelling Architecture, Structure, and stage-based basic MEP models using Revit
  • Experience in delivering project information in accordance with ISO 19650 suite and BIM standards
  • Experience working in a Common Data Environment such as ProjectWise
  • Good knowledge of Navisworks Package

Desirable:

  • Experience in rail, ports, and tunnelling sectors
  • Working towards technician membership of a recognised institution such as ICE, or equivalent
  • Experience working with international teams via hybrid working
