Egis is looking for Associates expert in Public Health Engineering to join our MEP team as part of the Technical Excellence Team. We're looking for experienced professionals ready to leverage their expertise to drive excellence in projects, engineering, delivery, quality, and processes.
The ideal candidate will be an innovator within the MEP industry in the Middle East, using their expertise to elevate our Regional MEP team. This is your chance to shape the future of project delivery, achieve outstanding outcomes, and contribute to a sustainable future for our Regional MEP team.
Specific areas of key responsibility include the following on a regional level:
Technical Leadership:
- Lead the MEP team with technical expertise.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for the delivery team.
Developing Quality and Process Management:
- Define and implement QA/QC processes.
- Apply and oversee policies related to process, quality, and training.
- Ensure accuracy and technical correctness in QAQC documentation.
- Actively participate in QA/QC processes and end-of-stage reviews..
Team Development and Motivation:
- Train, develop, and guide engineers and design teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Project Contribution:
- Contribute to all project stages from inception to detailed delivery.
- Conduct regular stage reviews and gather client feedback for improvements.
Documentation and Standards:
- Standardize documentation, including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Update specifications and work with site teams to integrate lessons learned.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of documentation and keep the team updated on the latest regulations.
Industry Engagement and Knowledge Sharing:
- Keep the team updated on industry developments, technologies, and innovations.
- Engage in professional societies, contribute papers, and participate in conferences.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Possess knowledge of buildability, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk, and claim assessment.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ensure Health & Safety practices are embedded in all work in line with company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree. in Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered member of an internationally recognised professional body (e.g. CIBSE, MIET, ASHRAE)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience, 8 years’ experience in Middle East.
- Proven track record in building services design with different types of sectors, including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, Healthcare, Industrial, refurbishment, etc.
- Proven record as a Discipline Lead Expert
- Proven record as a discipline lead on complex projects
- Experienced at:
Developing complex solutions
Writing reports and specifications
Implementing innovation
Thorough understanding of the design process
Presenting to clients
TECHNICAL SKILLS / KNOWLEGDE:
Specific areas of anticipated technical skills include.
- Proven ability to carry out both manual and computer aided calculations, problem solving, technical and financial analyses, etc.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and engineering specific software.
- Detailed knowledge of BIM / digitalisation techniques and standards.
- Strong software capability and proficiency in Hevacomp, AutoCAD. REVIT and Navisworks.
- Excellent knowledge of local and international design standards, BSEN, CIBSE, ASHRAE, NFPA etc.
- Excellent knowledge of local statutory authorities’ regulations and submission requirements across Middle East, mainly, UAE and KSA.
- Advanced knowledge of Public Health and Fire Protection Engineering, Water, Drainage systems, Distribution, Hot Water Systems and FLS design.
- Sustainable design practices and technologies.
- Maintain and participate in CPD events to develop own expertise.
