About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will support the Resident Engineer in overseeing construction projects, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining efficient site operations.

  • Assist in the day-to-day management and supervision of construction sites
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines
  • Prepare and maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and other relevant documentation
  • Support the Resident Engineer in coordinating with various departments and external parties
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies
  • Assist in the preparation of change orders, variation requests, and other contract-related documents
  • Ensure adherence to local building codes and regulations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in site meetings and contribute to effective communication among project team members

What do we need from you

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering or construction management with 5 years minimum experience in a similar role.
  • Professional engineering certification (e.g., CEng) preferred
  • Proficiency in project management software, AutoCAD or similar design software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of construction management techniques, quality control, and assurance methods
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Dubai and the UAE
  • Understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and best practices
  • Experience with site supervision and inspection
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in construction
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Fluency in English.
