We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to support our UK Financial Reporting Manager in the consolidation, stewardship and oversight of the UK results. This is a new role and very much ‘hands on’ working, partnering with entity finance business partners and group finance to ensure accuracy of results and adherence to deadlines.
Egis in the UK is currently undergoing a period of intensive transformation as we embed a new Operating Model, and transition to a new ERP. As such this role offers the right individual a key opportunity to lead the review and subsequent improvement of finance business processes across all UK subsidiaries.
Your duties will include those set out below but there are plenty of opportunities for growth and career development in the group.
- Assisting with the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with group guidelines as well as accounting standards and regulations
- Generation of monthly intercompany invoicing and ownership of any resulting queries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Budgeting and forecasting support
- Assisting with monthly consolidation activities for the UK, including UK P&L from entity inputs
- Embedding of robust business processes to ensure that all financial reporting is of a high quality and meets the requirements of key stakeholders
- Assistance with the Tagetik consolidation and reporting tool
- Ensuring business readiness for the upcoming ERP transition in January 2025
- ACCA Part Qualified or relevant preferable
- Demonstrated experience in similar position
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and reporting standards
- Great communication skills both written and verbal
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Excellent organization, administration and interpersonal skills
- Proactive outlook: hands-on can do mentality with a continuous improvement mindset
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite
