About the Role

Position Overview: The Architect of Record (AOR) is a licensed architect responsible for ensuring the technical and regulatory compliance of architectural designs for a project. They are the primary point of contact between the project team and external authorities, ensuring that the design is executed according to approved drawings, codes, and standards. The Architect of Record plays a key role in coordinating design development, preparing documents, and overseeing construction administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design Development:
    • Collaborate with design architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to finalize design plans and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Review and approve design drawings and documents to ensure they meet applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
  2. Code Compliance:
    • Ensure that all designs are in compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements,  and other applicable legislation.
    • Manage any required permits, licenses, or approvals needed for the project to proceed.
  3. Project Documentation:
    • Lead the preparation and coordination of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and technical reports.
    • Ensure that all project documents are accurate, up-to-date, and in line with the design intent.
  4. Construction Administration:
    • Provide oversight during the construction phase, ensuring that the construction team follows the approved design and specifications.
    • Review contractor permitting strategy.
  5. Client & Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project permitting and approvals goals are achieved.
  6. Coordination and Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with other consultants (structural engineers, mechanical engineers, etc.) to ensure that the design is integrated and cohesive.
    • Facilitate collaboration between team members to resolve design challenges efficiently.

What do we need from you

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Structure  from an accredited institution.
  • Licensing:
    • Licensed Architect in Saudi Arabia
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in architecture, with a proven track record in managing the technical aspects of architectural projects.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and architectural standards.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Additional Attributes:
    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment: The Architect of Record will work in an office setting, but periodic site visits will be required. Flexibility in work hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines or attend client meetings.
