About the Role

Egis is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of the Taxiway Rehabilitation Package for a landmark aviation Program in Toronto. This role is a critical part of the Airfield Projects, which includes the restoration of approximately 80% of the airport's taxiways under live operating conditions.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the taxiway package, ensuring it is delivered to scope, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with the project's stringent safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position will operate within a collaborative Progressive Design-Build (PDB) contracting model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integrated project team, including consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, to successfully deliver the taxiway scope.
  • Manage all phases of the taxiway project lifecycle, from detailed design and planning through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Provide direction and subject matter expertise on the constructability of design, construction planning, and execution of airfield pavement works.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on project progress, managing schedule, cost, risk, and change in line with the overall program governance.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant Canadian aerodrome standards (e.g., TP312), environmental laws, and health and safety regulations.
  • Manage and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and alignment in a complex operational environment.
  • Actively participate in constructability, scope management, and value engineering reviews during the design phase.
  • Coordinate with the Program Controls, Health & Safety, and Environmental leads to ensure project activities are fully integrated with program-wide requirements

What do we need from you

  • A recognized degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects, with a significant focus on airfield pavement and restoration works.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex construction projects within a live, highly regulated operational environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of airfield pavement structural design, materials, and civil construction methods suitable for climates with significant seasonal changes.
  • Proven experience working with progressive or collaborative contracting models; direct experience with Progressive Design-Build is a strong asset.
  • Professional designation such as PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly desirable; a P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) license to practice in the Province of Ontario is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads) and project management applications.
