The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering and technical supervision team to ensure that all construction works are executed in compliance with design specifications, project requirements, and international standards. The role involves coordinating between design consultants, contractors, and the client to resolve technical issues, review and approve engineering submissions, and ensure the highest quality of construction and safety practices.
· Lead and oversee all engineering aspects of the supervision consultancy team across disciplines (civil, structural, MEP, etc.).
· Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents submitted by the contractor.
· Ensure that construction works comply with the approved design, specifications, codes, and client requirements.
· Coordinate with the client, design consultants, and contractors for technical reviews, approvals, and issue resolutions.
· Provide technical guidance and support to site engineers and inspectors.
· Conduct regular site inspections and ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards are maintained.
· Monitor the progress of construction activities, identify risks or delays, and advise on corrective actions.
· Lead technical meetings and workshops with stakeholders to address project challenges.
· Ensure that safety and environmental requirements are adhered to during construction.
· Prepare technical reports, engineering assessments, and progress updates for the client.
· Support the Resident Engineer or Project Director in managing contractual and technical matters.
· Bachelor’s degree in civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
· 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a supervision consultancy role on large-scale construction projects.
· Strong background in design review, construction supervision, and technical coordination.
· Familiarity with international standards (e.g., ASTM, BS, ACI, NFPA, etc.) and local authority requirements.
· Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
· Excellent problem-solving, technical, and decision-making skills.
· Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
· Professional Engineer license or membership (e.g., PMP, PE, CEng) is an advantage.
