Develop optimal horizontal and vertical track alignment using engineering design software (e.g., Bentley Rail Track, Civil 3D, OpenRail).
Interpret and incorporate topographical, environmental, and geotechnical data into alignment designs.
Coordinate with survey teams to ensure accuracy of alignment layouts and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare alignment drawings, design documentation, and technical reports.
Conduct site visits to verify alignment accuracy and construction conformance.
Analyze and optimize alignment based on train speed, curvature, gradient, and safety standards.
Liaise with government bodies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support during construction and post-construction phases.
Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field.
12+ years of experience in railway design or infrastructure alignment.
Proficiency in alignment and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRail, MicroStation).
Strong knowledge of railway design standards (e.g., AREMA, UIC, or local equivalents).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
