About the Role

As a Senior Consultant (Defence/Nuclear) within the Egis Advisory business, you will be responsible for consultancy, policy and strategy evaluations and solutions for Defence clients with a focus on building Egis’ operational nuclear capabilities. Joining Egis means you will have the opportunity to work on projects nationally and internationally.

You will also:

  • Manage and lead a range of projects nationally for Egis’ Defence portfolio.
  • Lead the development of complex project proposals, support bid and tender activities in line with Defence service line national strategy.
  • Act as subject matter expert and provide technical advice to clients and internal staff on the application of international good practice in the field of nuclear safety and engagement with external nuclear regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and conduct safety analysis and technical risk assessments to meet client needs and expectations in relation to nuclear infrastructure.
  • Supervise, mentor and support junior Consultants and Graduates, as required.

What do we need from you

Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role demonstrated expertise in the field of nuclear studies within a professional services consultancy environment. In addition, you will also have:

  • Current (or ability to obtain) Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 clearance minimum)
  • In lieu of Australian Government Security Clearance, equivalent clearance from AUKUS aligned countries.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Systems, Mechatronics), Science, Safety Assurance or similarly relevant.
  • Expertise in full-life cycle project management of complex medium to large scale projects within defence, rail or aviation sector preferred.
  • Proven subject matter expertise in nuclear technologies and/or infrastructure.
  • Experience in safety management, safety assessment and/or risk management within a complex, highly regulated, safety critical environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian standards and guidelines and ability to adhere to industry best practices.
  • Confident to work autonomously with limited guidance.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical and technical mindset.
